[My fake association built on Aptify for everything Aptify.]{.lead}
Learning, testing, experimenting, with Aptify can be really difficult if you don’t have the data for what you trying to play with.
Now this wasn’t really an issue for me when I was working for an Aptify client (CGAMB, NJCPA, CPAMB) as I had the database. But once I went to PerByte… I no longer had a database of data to play with. I had to ad-hock create what I needed. This got really tiresome and it kept changing and blah. So, I came up with the idea that I should have fake association with actual data structured like it is in the real world and do all my playing around, experiments, Simplify Aptify content, etc with it! Thus AMFA was born…ish.
As well, I wanted to do a project that used Aptify without using any of the OTB AMS modules.
The concept behind it would be to have an association with all the different features I’ve seen associations have seen since 2007 like:
- Tiered Membership (Personal and Group)
- Education Courses
- Events/Webinars/Conferences/Meetups
- Private Forums
- Groups/Committees/Chapters/Volunteering
- eCommerce (Figures, Manga, Anime (Blue-Rays), merchandise)
- Discounts/Campaigns
- Anime/Manga DB and Tracker link MyAnimeList
- Company Admin (as in like the studio’s could have permission to modify the Anime/Manga details)
- Certification Program (something like a certified manga artist assistant or something)
- News, Articles, Blogs
- User Profile, Settings
Integrations
- Azure B2C or Auth0 for Member logins
- Headless CMS
- Something like Storyblok or Builder.io
- I would use Sitefinity but they haven’t had a free/dev/hobby tier since like v5 (ugh, really hated when they got rid of this).
- Stripe
- SendGrid
- Canada Post
- Something other than Google Analytics
- something for site performance metrics and such
- eCommerce (Saleor.io, Commerce.js, Medusa.js, Shopify or some other open sourced eCommerce solution)
Current Status
Well I did make some decent progress on it and did showcase it to the Aptify Developer Round Table group at one point… But then I decided I didn’t like how I setup 80% of it… “File New”.. couple computer restores, busy with work… soo… lets just say it’s under construction, lol.
